Commissioner Neil Kerch and his Coffee with the Commissioner campaign

Since first being elected in 2013, Commissioner Neil Kerch has been engaging with his constituency at the local coffee shops.  Kerch says "that many of our residents prefer to have a one-on-one interaction to share their concerns about the community. They want to know who is representing them."

Commissioner Kerch believes its important to establish a relationship and work collaboratively to resolve the issues. "Not everyone can make our Commission Meetings and not everyone is comfortable speaking during open discussions" says Kerch.  Commission meetings start at 5pm on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month and the public is permitted to voice concerns during open discussion or can be heard during the agenda items with public hearings.

If someone wants to set up a coffee appointment with Commissioner Kerch, you can email him at nkerch@sunrisefl.gov or call (954) 746-3250.  Check the Events and Activities pages for photos.

Wings for Life- World Run - Update

Commissioner Neil C. Kerch is sorry to report that he suffered from technical difficulties preventing him from joining all the runners at the Wings for Life World Run in Sunrise, FL.

Due to his I-phone automatically updating the operating system over night, the alarm did not go off and he was unable to make it to the start of the race.

What do you do when life serves you lemons?  Commissioner Kerch says "You make lemonade".

Although Commissioner Kerch was not able to participate at the live event, he grabbed his I-pad, started streaming the race, and jumped on his treadmill.  Although his official distance for the race is 0.00, Commissioner Kerch reports running a personal best on the treadmill.  He was extremely happy to have donated his entry fee to curing spinal cord injuries and looks forward to participating in next year's race.
